This is a painting by Bougereau.  I wonder if Love had a hard on that frieghtened her?  In general, being too obvious at first is not a good idea.

My guess is that she would be successful, and have second thoughts afterwards.

This poignant work of art was done by José Jiminez Aranda in 1892.  The nude girl's sign gives her name as Rodon, and her age as 18. Sale price: 800 mina.

 

The viewer feels an incredible sympathy with her, and instinctively desires to protect her.

 

To me, this is an excellent example of bourgeoise art of the 19th century that has a narrative.
